Finally, finally, finally it's here !

For those who don't know, this band (kill yourself), this is a Japanese (surprise, surprise) trio that plays a mixed of spaced out, psychedelic stoner doom metal.

With this release, their 5th full length, and the first after an agonizing 4 years, they are back at doing what they do best. Right from the very beginning, you are sucked into their vacuum as the sound on this album is very very heavy but also so trippy in a Hawkwind - ish kind of way. This band have a uncanny ability to mix up sounds and influences from Sabbath,King Crimson,Black Widow,Hendrix to modern day exponents of everything from straight out Metal to Doom to Stoner to even grunge and make it work.

Dot (.) starts off this split with a nice groove and an ungodly amount of distortion and feedback. For the most part the song revolves around 2 or so satisfying and heavy riffs, beyond that there's the usual screaming vocals which make there appearances throughout the dirge. A good track, solid sludge.

Being Fleshpress' third release we see them retaining the more typical sludge sound. The split transitions nicely, as Fleshpress' effort picks up with a nice bluesy riff as well. After about forty seconds of a mid-paced sludge groove, the song digresses into the slow quarter note sections that have become a main-stay in Fleshpress' arsenal. Ever changing drumming, fun little vibratos, and solid vocals keep this interesting and enjoyable until a pretty rad solo breaks out around 2:30. The song jumps back from a little break of just feedback to the same 'ol groove.

Zenocide - Zenocide (2009)

Its sludge guys! The same dirty, muddy , mind fuckin sludge we all love. Its not another of those atmospheric sludge/post metal shit that I would rather label as elevator music. Its hateful, raw, filthy and the way it is meant to be played.

Its from Japan (you see , AGAIN! Whats with these Japs and all the awesome music?). This album is absolutely minimalistic, The guitars are lying hidden in the background while vocals and drums do the talking. The vocals are some of the best (hell, It may even be the best) I have heard in the genre. The guy is screaming his lungs out (Remember Fleshpress or Accept Death?? This one's better!). The riffs are sludgy and dirty. There is constant horrifuing aura created by crashing cymbals and loud snareshots.
